Wild Child is an Australian based company that is focused on the development of natural over the counter (OTC) health care and personal care products. By basing its products in science, Wild Child has become a leader in bridging the gap between orthodox and alternative medicines, and a global presence in natural health.

The company’s core competencies are product development, distribution, marketing and licensing. The out sourcing of non-core functions has allowed the company to grow rapidly as it executes its global expansion strategy utilising the competitive nature of international third party subcontractors.

Wild Child’s operations fall into two primary divisions:

  1. Over The Counter Consumer Goods Division (OTC)
  2. Biotech Product Development (BPD)

Wild Child OTC

Over the past 10 years the company has developed a core consumer product range and a global distribution network. The company utilises a number of different business models for this division including:

  • Branded product sales – Marketing of Wild Child and Quit Nits branded products direct to major supermarket and pharmacy/drugstore retailers or via distributors
  • Private Label product sales – Marketing of Private Label variants of the OTC product range direct to major supermarket and drugstore channels or via distributors
  • Licensing agreements – The licensing out of intellectual property such as patents, trademarks, product formulations and know how in return for royalty income.

Biotech Product Development (BPD)

The BPD business is involved in the commercialisation of new business opportunities from the product pipeline developed through Wild Child’s research and development activities and includes patented natural insecticide and biocide technologies.

Some of the more exciting developments include:

  1. A new and novel anti-fungal active known as WCR4 that has proven to be much more effective than the dominant imidazole class of drugs such as Canesten and Lamasil.
  2. A new and novel natural preservative system for the therapeutic goods and cosmetic industries.
  3. A new and novel natural pesticide for use in the agricultural industry.

The product pipeline is targeted at multimillion/billion dollar markets and will target the generation of revenue streams through licensing arrangements, partnership milestone payments and royalty streams.

The Wild Child team is a mix of both entrepreneurial and experienced professionals and includes its own in-house scientific and regulatory specialists providing a strong management base to ensure timely marketing readiness and regulatory approvals.
